Act Like a Woman, Date Like a Man

Joshua Pompey, Dating Expert, at www.getrealdates.com discusses three ways for women to become more successful at dating by approaching it from a male perspective.

Are you tired of men playing games in the dating world?  Well I say, if you can’t beat them at their own game, join them.  Sometimes the best way to land a man is by giving them a taste of their own medicine.

Let’s take a look at three ways that you could learn to date more like a man:

  1. Take care of yourself first, not the man you are dating.Guys don’t go out of their way to wait on women hand and foot when first meeting them.  They tend to look out for themselves first.

On the other hand, many women are nurturers by nature.  Their first instincts are to do nice things for men and take care of them.  In the minds of these women, they think they are showing these guys what great potential wives they will make one day.

This is a big mistake in the early stages of the dating game.  Acting like a guy’s maid or mother early on will result in him expecting you to act like this all the time.  It is a one-way lifetime pass to waiting on a man hand and foot.

The best way to get a man to respect you is by finding a nice balance between showing you are generous, and being independent.  It’s ok to show a kind side, just not all the time.

  2.  Leave the drama at home.Guys tend to keep their problems more to themselves in the early stages of dating.  They don’t feel the need to let women know every little emotion that they are feeling.  Sometime to a fault, men are overly brave and try to show no weakness whatsoever.

As a woman, don’t bring tons of drama around when first dating a man.  When enough time has past, it is okay to vent every once in a while.  Doing so is a sign of a healthy relationship with open communication.   But again, there is a time and place for bringing drama to the relationship.

When women start out the courtship with constant complaining and drama, men will look elsewhere for someone that isn’t a constant downer.

  3. Don’t force the relationship and keep your options open. Many women will meet a guy they like, become convinced he is the one, and focus solely on trying to form a relationship with this person.  They start ignoring all of their other options and become dedicated to the cause.

Men on the other hand do not act like this when meeting a woman they like.  They keep their options open for the most part, and are still open to the idea of meeting someone else.

It is okay to like a guy and feel like you want to be in a relationship after one or two dates.  But don’t close the door on everything else.  Not only is this risky, but by being available all the time, the men you are interested in will know that they don’t have to rush to commit.  On a fundamental level, men always want what they can’t have.  By leaving it all out on the table, you are essentially giving them a free pass to keep their options open for as long as they want.
