Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. There tends to be a lot of focus on what women want or what women should do to find love for the holiday. However, an overwhelming number of single men are also looking for love or companionship, too. If you are a single male looking to find your Ms. Right, where do you go to find love? If you take a best girlfriend out, it will seem like you are on a date. How can you enjoy Valentine’s Day and possibly make a love connection?
Valentine’s Day is meant to embrace love of all types – friendships, family and relationships. You may not fall head over heels in love on Valentine’s Day, but you can feel loved and appreciated by the people in your life. Traditionally, men are expected to make the first move. Try one (or all) of these power plays to bring love into your life on Valentine’s Day.
- Play Casanova. Wish every woman you see a Happy Valentine’s Day. It’s not only a thoughtful gesture but you would be surprised by some of the responses. Some may thank you and others may scour and admit they don’t like the holiday because they are single. If she seems like someone you might be interested in, use this as an opportunity to strike up conversation and tell her you are single, too. Suggest the two of you have a post Valentine’s Day coffee and get to know each other better.
- Play Delivery Man. Invest in a dozen roses and give one to the girls in your life. Present one to your co-workers, platonic friends and your sisters. These small gestures will go a long way. Next time one of these girls are out with a single friend and she mentions she is looking for a nice guy, your name will be on the top of the list.
- Play Don Juan. Find a couple of your single male friends and go to happy hour at a local hotspot. Most couples will be having date nights, but happy hours are great environments to meet other singles. If you meet someone that sparks your eye, offer to buy her a drink. Who knows, happy hour could turn into an impromptu dinner.
- Play Social Director. Send Facebook girl friends messages. Tweet to your female community. Send texts to contacts in your phone book. Share a little social love. Not only will people wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day, too, but you will also score points with people who may know someone that would be a great match for you.
